THANET PRIDE

Be proud, be here!

A warm welcome awaits you on 24th July when Margate's seafront becomes a huge rainbow of colourful flags, dazzling costumes and a myriad of music and laughter when it plays host to Thanet Pride 2010.  Last year, visitors from across Britain and Europe joined a 15,000-strong crowd to make Kent's only lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and trans Pride a huge success, and we aim to paint the town pink for a fourth year running with this summer's family-friendly,   free event.

As well as stalls and a funfair, Thanet Pride 2010 will include superb stage entertainment with “The Pride Icons Show” featuring first-class tributes to Lady Ga Ga, Freddie Mercury, ABBA, Karen Carpenter and George Michael, along with top drag performer Drag with no name, Kitty Monroe and London band Moon Shot.

Promoting diversity in all its vibrant colours, Thanet Pride aims to bring together the entire community – lesbian, gay, bi-sexual, trans, straight, young, young-at-heart – in a fantastic day out for all the family.  Join us for a fabulous, fun-filled celebration – be proud of who you are at Thanet Pride!

CHAIRMANS THANKS

The production and success of Thanet Pride depends on the involvement of various parties and an attempt to thank them all is virtually impossible. I thank everyone who participates in any capacity. This includes all those who attend and enjoy the day, all volunteers and other workers including stall holders, entertainers and the emergency services. Success without funding would be even more difficult so I thank our sponsors and fund raisers.

Finally and on a personal level I would like to thank the committee members without whom I certainly could not have been involved this year. Their contribution is hidden throughout the year but invaluable.
